The Challenge

A consulting organization wanted their consulting managers and associates to have mobile access to an application that would allow them to administer project information, assign associates to projects and enter their time quickly and easily. They also wanted the resulting data to be interfaced into their accounting system for client invoicing.

The company was experiencing great pain because of the manual effort spent administering project related information, aggregate consulting associates time and accurately invoice the customer. Further, the time required was not producing accurate results.

The Opportunity

Raining Virtue Solutions certainly understood this situation and the effort and coordination required to efficiently process consulting time and invoices.

In summary, our strategy was to develop an application that met the organizations requirements using a platform and development tools that were robust and scalable. The vision was to develop one software application that can be deployed and accessed via 1) a web page; 2) a Windows Mobile device.

By leveraging some of our already developed and established Web Services using Microsoft .NET, we could quickly bring the solution to life.

The Solution

In less than six weeks, Raining Virtue Solution and its software engineers produced the first version of the system.

The solution was accessible via the Internet, a Windows Mobile device, a smart phone and a traditional cellular phone.

Raining Virtue Solutions consulting happily tested and validated the functionality of the Microsoft .NET application.

To support integration with the organizations accounting system we created a Microsoft SQL Server DTS package. This package is scheduled and runs at predefined times. It aggregates, organizes and sorts results into a file that can be imported into the accounting system.
